New Creations.....

We are exhausted from our vacation.  Can you believe that a person can go on vacation and have to rest when they get home?  I think it was the 12 hour drive that did us in!

We recently rented out the apartment above the store.

On the balcony, the previous owner left what looked like a toy box....

OF COURSE, I forgot to take a before picture of the actual one,
                                but it looked something like this.... (minus the word...)

I believe it held lawn chairs, etc.  It sat outside for so long that it was very weathered and falling apart.  Before the new tenant moved in, we were loading up everything 

that had to be taken to the recycling center.

Deb asked me if I wanted to throw it away since it had already completely fallen apart.  

I couldn't do it!!!

I just knew there was something I could make out of it...  

All four sides looked almost like a framed picture...

I knew I wanted to stencil some words......

But didn't know what I wanted to say!!!!

 I lightly painted the whole section white.... and then lightly stenciled so it looked distressed.....

 I added a star on each corner.....

And lightly touched it with Annie Sloan's gilding wax.. (LOVE)

I obviously had one more section.... 

???????

I happend to be listening to my Sarah McLachlan CD.... (I HEART HER)

And I thought these little embellishments looked like angel wings!!!

I used the gilding wax again on the little "wings."

I, again, want to keep them and hang them in my house....

But, they will be in the window at the shop... for sale!

Our date to open is Tuesday, April 2.  

We will be very, very busy over the next several weeks!
