Liebster Award

I am so honored that Melinda from The Refeathered Roost passed her Liebster Award

along to me.... The Tattered Treasures. What an honor!

(Liebster is a German word that means endearing, valued, and lovely. The award acknowledges up and coming bloggers for outstanding accomplishments within design that is presented on their blog.

Here are the rules for accepting the award:

1. Each blogger should post 11 random facts about themselves by answering the questions the tagger has set for you.

2. Choose 11 new bloggers (with less than 200 followers) to pass the award to and link them in your post.
3. Choose 11 new questions for the new chosen bloggers.

4. Go back to their page and tell them about the award.

5. No tag backs.

Here are the questions Melinda asked me:

1. What is your favorite room in your home?

I would say it has to be our family room. It has a huge fireplace and a large picture window that we can see our beautiful view in our backyard.

2. If you could live in any home that is in a television program, movie, or book, which house would you choose?

I just don't know of any place else I want to be. Our backyard is so beautiful and has everything we need... campfire, gazebo, porch swing, pergola, etc. We used to own a camper but sold it because of our surroundings. I love where we live!

3. What is the item that you dream of bringing home but it's just to dad-gum expensive?

HA! This one cracked me up. I have been longing for two antique lamp posts to put in our backyard. Deb and I ran electricity (ourselves) last year. We have two areas for lamp posts. BUT, they are completely out of our price range. We are just being patient that someday, two may pop up in our lives for very inexpensive.

4. Are you a morning person or a night owl?

I used to be a morning person.... but since we started working for ourselves, I have become a night owl. I think it was all of those years of getting up at 5:45am that I want to forget! HA!

5. What is your favorite holiday?

It has always been Thanksgiving. I think it is because it is the calm before the storm.

6. Do you think I look fat in this? And if you do, why in the world wouldn't you just lie to me? JUST KIDDING! One piece or two piece bathing suit? I'm not kidding.

HAHA! I prefer a tankini.... with NO mid section showing. They are easier to use the bathroom! HA!

7. What is the next project you are considering for your home?

There is ALWAYS a project going on here. Currently I want to lighten up our basement. But, we have a shop opening up (week of April 1st) so I have to hold off on my things for now. It's killing me!

8. Are you an extrovert or an introvert? (Sorry.... I had to put one question in here concerning personality types.)

People that know me would say I'm an extrovert. But my daughter did a study in high school on this subject. The test showed I was an introvert. I get all of my energy from the quietness and stillness in my life.

9. What feeling do you hope your home evokes when visitors enter?

I want people to feel the peace that I feel. (And the fact that we decorate our house on a very, very low budget.... that most anyone could afford.)

10. Where is the most interesting place you have ever visited.

I have been a lot of places, including overseas. I'm not sure I could narrow any of them down. I love a little bit of every place I go. We went to Key West, FL, last winter and loved it there. It was so nice in the middle of February, when it is in the 20s here in Indiana, to feel the warm sun! I also just love getting in the car and driving to little shops to see other people's creations.

11. What is the greatest joy you find in blogging?

I would say reading other people's blogs and seeing how creative they can be. I have learned so much this past year! I, also, love blogging about our recent client projects because they get so excited to see the responses of other readers.
