Just in Time....

For Valentine's Day.....

I found this little vintage suitcase,
(or SOUPcase, as someone else calls it)
and decided it needed a little makeover.

It was just about like the one I had when I was a little girl...
I used it for my baby doll clothes.
It is very light weight!

The inside still has the original paper lining...
but was missing the little mirror.

I added some letters to the top....

and a graphic....
from The Graphics Fairy with Mod Podge.

Inside....  I tore a page out of an old book and attached it where the mirror USED to be, along with more words.

After it was dry, I painted most of it with ASCP in Old White.....
(I still wanted to leave some of the original green.)
I dry-brushed the paint right over the words and picture...

And then waxed.

A little vintage re-purposed piece to hold your pictures and notes!

  1. Cute idea Danelle!!! I have a blue travel case that is similar but it has a "bumpy" texture. I wonder if I could get this to work with that texture? My case sure does need an update. You did a great job with yours.
